È stato rilasciato un particolare homebrew per le nostre PS3 (con Custom Firmware o Jailbreak) intitolato Chaos Air Bringer e che ci permetterà di cambiare realmente (quindi non solo visivamente come con gli spoofer!) l'indirizzo MAC della nostra PS3 con uno generato a caso oppure uno scelto da noi.
Per la cronaca, questo homebrew deriva direttamente da un plugin che abbiamo già visto in funzione sul futuro CF di JaicraB.
Il perché si voglia cambiare indirizzo MAC varia da motivazione a motivazione, ad esempio può essere utile per creare dei video della propria XMB senza dover "coprire" (come avveniva finora) la stringa relativa all'indirizzo MAC, questo perché è un valore unico per ogni PS3 e quindi permetterebbe (in teoria) di rintracciare la vostra console. Oppure potrebbe essere utile per aggirare i filtri di indirizzi MAC che hanno alcune connessioni particolari.

Prima di lasciarvi al testo che accompagna la release vi ricordo che il cambio è reale e non solo visivo (come accade invece con gli spoofer della versione del Firmware) quindi dopo l'operazione avrete una PS3 con un vero nuovo indirizzo MAC!

Procedure:

1 º) Make a hard drive or flash drive / external, for example, into any USB port (the application takes care of searching alone).
